Wow. That title worked better than I anticipated. Anyway…
Yes, it is another Left 4 Dead post, but with the game out in a week and my lack of disposable income preventing me from getting any other game before Christmas, I’m making sure I focus on what I will be playing. And to that end, Valve have put up a few new entries on the Left 4 Dead blog, including the first part of what is looking like a very fascinating topic on the game’s art direction, with the first part concentrating on the game’s ‘Filmic Effects’. It’s a great insight onto how visual shortcuts can really affect the atmosphere of a game, and how prettying something up can also have very real practical effects on gameplay. I highly reccomend you go read.
